De Jesus R. from Mexico City, MexicoHere in Mexico children are used to manipulate people into giving alms. I know there is real, apparent hardship here, but I am bothered the extent people go to in order to grab attention. Nicely captured moment, nonetheless. 18 May 2009 12:39am @Luis A. De Jesus R.: Thanks for viewing! shoti from Everywhere in the, Philippinesthese guys know that people will have more sympathy with these children. it's a pity they can't do anything about it. anyway, this is a greatly composed photograph, b&w is a good choice, brings more emotions. 18 May 2009 12:45am @shoti: Thanks for viewing! Strong message as well. 18 May 2009 10:37am @zOOm: Thanks for viewing! Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesPoverty, hardship, and exploitation do not discriminate. In this country it can be a bit more subtle. There are some women will continue to have more and more children because that is how they can get more money and stay on the government welfare roles. It is just a different tack on this idea of using the children to get alms only in that case the alms are entitlements from the government. Filling out forms instead of begging on the street. How sad. Powerful image, very thought provoking. 18 May 2009 11:45am @Laurie: Thanks for viewing! @Shuva Brata Deb: Thanks for viewing! @OMID: Thanks for viewing!
